Senior Maths Challenge 2023

On Tuesday 3rd October, 100 of the top Mathematicians in the school took part in the Senior Mathematics Challenge. This comprises 25 challenging - beyond the curriculum - multiple choice questions. The boys performed admirably with 16 of those in Year 11 achieving a Bronze and three achieving a Silver. Notable achievement to Adam Bailey (11C) who scored the highest in the year with 68 points (higher than many of the 6th form entries). In Year 12, 10 Bronze, 6 Silvers with Henry Stewart (12AS) top scoring with 77. The Year 13 Further Maths students performed incredibly well, with three Bronze, three Silvers and three Golds. Shaheen Khan (13RJW), Abdul Sheikh (13RJW) and Sukhman Shergill (13RJW) then went on to participate in the Andrew Jobbings Kangaroo for their gold achievement. Again they all performed well, receiving participation awards for their commendable work. Another successful year for our mathematical students at GGS.
