Year 7 Camp - July 2025

In July, 120 Year 7s packed up a rucksack and travelled out to Broadstone Warren in Ashdown Forest for the annual summer camp. This year students stayed for the whole week in 8 man tents in a campsite surrounded by pine and oak trees. The week was filled with outdoor adventurous activities with students learning archery, axe throwing and abseiling. Everyone had a chance to tackle the Leap of Faith and compete in the gauntlet race. Their evenings were spent doing wide games. They saved the staff from Aliens, participated in Campsite Olympics, defending their base and showing hidden talents in cabaret. Meals were eaten around the campfire, the wood for which was very enthusiastically collected by the students. Each evening before bed they enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits with stories and songs around the fire. It is really a unique trip for all those who went and I'm sure they will be sharing memories from it for years to come. I'd like to thank all the staff who voluntarily gave up their home comforts to stay in the woods and help look after the students. The School has been going to the same campsite for over 30 years and we are already booked in for Summer 2026 so current Year 7s make sure you look out for the sign up letter.
