This term has been an incredibly successful one for our school basketball team, who have delivered an outstanding set of performances across both league and friendly fixtures. With commitment, teamwork and determination on display throughout the season, the results speak for themselves.
So far, the team has played 16 matches, winning an impressive 14 games and losing just 2, with no draws. Over the course of these fixtures, the players scored a remarkable 1,358 points, conceding 855, giving a commanding points difference of +503. This statistic alone highlights the attacking strength and defensive discipline the squad has shown week after week.
The season began strongly with a friendly win against Harris Lowe Academy Willesden (80–66), setting the tone for what was to come. League success quickly followed, including emphatic victories over Kent Panthers (95–48), Northfleet Crusaders (83– 53) and Sevenoaks Suns (98–31) in NBL competition. Particularly memorable was the dominant 115–18 home win against Mid Sussex Chargers, showcasing the team’s ability to maintain focus and intensity from start to finish.
In CBL fixtures, the team also impressed, earning hard-fought wins against schools such as The John Roan School, Greatfields School, and The Canterbury Academy. The narrow victories against Chessington Community College (60–56) and The John Roan School (80–76) demonstrated resilience and composure under pressure.
Although there were two setbacks away to Northfleet Technology College and Chadwell Heath Academy, the players responded positively, bouncing back with strong performances and finishing the term on a high.
Overall, this has been a season to be proud of. The team’s dedication in training and matches has clearly paid off, and they have represented the school with excellence, sportsmanship and confidence. Congratulations to all players and staff involved – we look forward to seeing what the next stage of the season brings.
