This year saw a hugely impressive crop of interviewees for the Milton Award Scholarships. Out of a cohort of over 200 students we managed to get it down to a shortlist of seven. This was a process which took hours so that by the time we got to the interview stage we knew that we had the right candidates!
The seven students who made the interview stage all gave a great account of themselves throughout the morning. They dealt with challenging questions in a stressful situation with maturity beyond their years. The panel consisted of Mr Tomori (father of Fikayo Tomori) Mr Paul Henry (Esquire Developments), Mr Moaby, Matthew Bailey (Head Student), Mr Rees and Mr Deamer. Over the course of the morning we were hugely impressed, not only with the achievements of the candidates but also how they conducted themselves through the process. The following were just a few of the impressive achievements from the students who made the interview round:
- Representing their country in sport
- Raising money for charity
- Achieving a grade 8 on a musical instrument
- Securing Work Experience at a prestigious Architecture Firm
- Delivering a speech to over 500 people
- Having work published
