Preparations are well underway for GGS World Explorer 2026, our ambitious three- week expedition to Costa Rica in July 2026. Our team of 13 students has already shown fantastic dedication, and over the next 12 months they have been challenged to raise at least 25% of their trip costs through individual and group fundraising. In addition, we will be organising school-wide fund[1]raising events to support group travel to and from London Heathrow and provide additional spending money for the team while abroad. What sets this expedition apart is the unique level of choice it offers our students. Rather than following a rigid itinerary, participants will help shape their own experience – deciding how long they want to spend on each phase of the adventure. They may opt to spend several days trekking through Costa Rica’s spectacular cloud forests, afterwards they may prefer time relaxing on the Pacific coast’s pristine beach[1]es or getting hands-on in a meaningful conservation project, such as protecting sea turtle habitats or replanting native trees in a rainforest reserve. Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth, home to exotic animals like sloths, toucans and red-eyed tree frogs. With its lush rainforests, towering volcanoes and warm, welcoming culture, it offers the perfect environment for personal growth, challenge and exploration. This promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We are proud of the students’ efforts so far and excited to support them as they fundraise and prepare for the journey ahead.
