Hockey - Term 3 round up

Hockey - Term 3 round up

Hockey has been in full swing in Term 3. Our 1st XI, U15 & U14 have been playing regular fixtures against local schools. 1st XI team have been working extremely hard over terms 1 & 2 to prepare for the term 3 games. First up was a trip down to Canterbury to face Simon Langton B, a very established hockey playing school. The boys led 1-0 for the majority of the game but let the lead slip in the last 10 mins to lose 3-1. Next up was Kings Rochester which was a fantastic end to end game of hockey where the boys came away with a well deserved 2-0 win. Our final game of the term was against Maidstone Grammar who beat us last year in a very competitive game of hockey. This time round the boys put on a dominant performance and won 4-1. Half term marks the halfway point, with more fixtures next term the boys have much more to look forward to including Ashford Bs and Norton Knatchbull.

Our Middle School squad (U14 & U15) have looked good this term, and have been equally as busy playing various schools around the county. Their hardwork and perseverance during winter training is clearly paying off as our U14 squad picked up two wins against Ashford School (5-1) & Kings Rochester (2-0). As well as two closely fought games against Norton Knatchbull where the U15s & U14s lost 2-1 and 2-0 respectively. There are more games coming up after half term. These school fixtures combined with our strong links with GWHC, where many of our students have been playing weekly games for their Saturday teams, has offered a fantastic opportunity for our students to play competitive hockey for Club and School.      BPS
