Badminton - Kent finals

24th January saw the Year 7 to 9 Kent Finals for Badminton. The team of Elias Jivraj (8P), Rijvansh Sanwang (9L), Franklin Chester (9L) and Dingwei Yang (9P) combined to create a team with a chance of winning. The team quickly found their feet playing against Bexley Grammar School who had a strong County player in their team. Some incredibly close games that could have gone either way saw Bexley come out 4-1 victors. The boys didn't let their heads drop going into the next game against Langley Park. Very quickly, we saw two singles games finished and won before the doubles of Dingwei and Franklin ending. This game was enthralling to watch with GGS winning 20-18. Some excellent work in the final doubles saw GGS come out winners 4-1. This win sent us to the 3rd/4th place playoff against Sevenoaks. Again the boys worked hard in all the games, making sure they worked together as a team and constantly cheering each other on to a dominant 5-0 victory and overall 3rd place.  Another successful year for GGS badminton.      Mr Woods
